Combining technical excellence with a bold aesthetic, the new Gouverneur line expresses Piaget's quintessential expertise and historical values. As part of the Black Tie watch collection, it follows the tradition of shaped cases in a classic design, housing mechanical movement and complications that form part of the entire design, developed and produced by the Manufacture.
With the Gouverneur watch, Piaget reveals a brand new case merging a circle and an oval in a subtly balanced design. The alternating shapes are repeated until the centre of the dial creating a sophisticated, soft and harmonious structure, evoking both perfection and innovation.
Equipped with the new 882P calibre, ultra-thin mechanical self-winding movement, this Gouverneur chronograph watch has a distinctive configuration with two counters, reminiscent of retro models. In addition to the flyback chronograph functions, it displays hours, minutes, a second time zone and the date. For the ultimate in sophistication, the black oscillating weight stamped with the Piaget coat-of-arms is reminiscent of the bracelet lining in the same colour. Set with two rows of delicately set diamonds, this timepiece combines elegance with sparkle.

The 882P PVD movement is one of the thinnest chronograph movements available at only 5.6 mm thick. As part of the very exclusive world of major watchmaking complications, the chronograph movement is distinguished by its flyback mechanism, a highly precise function which allows for the chronograph to be reset without interruption. By one simple push, the minute and central seconds hands ""fly back"" to zero and automatically begin a new cycle. The 882P chronograph movement is enhanced with two barrels, a balance with screws, a lever escapement and an oscillating weight decorated with the Piaget coat of arms in black PVD. It is also equipped with a second time zone (with 24-hour time display) placed at 9 o'clock.
Its chronograph is governed by a column wheel, to coordinate all its phases, and a vertical clutch system assuring the utmost precision. The flat, overlapping surfaces of the two disks that make up the movement are directly driven, thus avoiding jumping needles and any unnecessary expenditure of the power reserve. To complete the movement's functions, the frequency has been increased for better precision.
The circular Côtes de Genève, the circular-grained mainplate, the bevelled bridges, the blued screws and the black oscillating weight engraved with the Piaget coat of arms round off this exceptional movement, while remaining true to the aesthetic codes cherished by the Swiss watchmaking brand.
